On 26th April 2024, Good Neighbors Cambodia (GNC) celebrated the Good Learning Center Inauguration and Handover Ceremony to 2 Thnou Secondary School in Choeung Klu village, 2Thnuo Commune, Snuol District, Kratie province.
The Inauguration and Handover Ceremony of the Good Learning Center was presided over by H.E. Horng Chandy, Deputy Provincial Governor of Kratie Province; Mr. Kim Kyungho, Managing Director of Good Neighbors Cambodia; Mr. Lay Bora, Director of the Provincial Department of Education; the Director of 2 Thnou Secondary School; district governors; local authorities; teachers; students; parents; community members; and GNC staff. A total of 456 participants attended to celebrate and congratulate 2 Thnou Secondary School on receiving the best educational support.
The event began with a warm welcome, followed by the national anthem and a greeting dance prepared by students as a special tribute to donors, GNC, and all event participants. It continued with a school report provided by the director, who stated that 2 Thnou Secondary School was constructed in 2006. It was initially equipped with five classrooms, 321 students, and 11 teachers. Thanks to GNC, the school support committee, and humanitarians, we now have the Good Learning Center, which offers additional classes to enhance educational effectiveness
Mr. Kim Kyungho continued stage with information about GNC, including the projects and programs that GNC and its partners support in community education. He shared that the Good Learning Center is designed to be a hub of creativity and innovation, offering courses ranging from English and technology to humanities. Here, learners will find opportunities to explore their interests and talents under the guidance of dedicated educators. I encourage everyone in the community to engage with and support this center—by participating in its programs, volunteering your time, or spreading the word about the resources available here. Every small contribution adds up to meaningful change.
H.E. Horng Chandy, the representative of the population and community people, expressed his gratitude to GNC and Snoul CDP staff for showing understanding of the 2 Thnou Secondary School situation and supporting in improving conditions and access to quality systems and methods. Moreover, H.E. Horng Chandy took a chance to motivate students to learn and look after the Good Learning Center.
* The Good Learning Center (GLC) of Good Neighbors Cambodia is the center that aims to improve Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Language competence, and library. It consists of a library room, computer class, and English class with equipped facilities, study materials, equipment, and a learning system with a well-trained professor.
