DGB Financial Group has started its project called ‘DGB Happy School Project’ in Cambodia through collaboration with Good Neighbors Cambodia (GNC) in December 2023 in ToulRoukarKoh Primary School in Dangkao District in Phnom Penh City and completed the football pitch and school playground for student in February 2024.
In mid-February 2024, GDB collaborated with Good Neighbors to organize a completed project visit and ceremony to officially hand over the playground and football pitch to students and beneficiaries. During the second visit, DGB invited 46 volunteers to engage and connect with students and the Cambodian community through educational volunteer activity, Culture exchange events, mini-Olympics, and other fund activities that led to lots of smiles from children and community people.
The visit started on 21st February 2024 with educational volunteer activities with 46 DGB volunteer students and 75 primary school students in grade 4 and grade 5 learning about Science, Physics, Art, Hygiene, and creativity with balloons. Come after with the DGB cultural exchange celebration took place to interchange cultural performances, communication, and interaction between Korean and Khmer cultures and between DGB volunteers and the Korean associations in Cambodia.
On 22nd February 2024 at Toul RoukarKoh Primary School, DGB and GNC organized an official ceremony to hand over the new football pitch and playground to the school preside by the presence of local governors, local authorities, Mr. Noun Bunrath, School Principal, Mr. Seong Tae-Moon, CEO of DGB Financial Group, Mr. Jang Dongwon, Country Director of Good Neighbors Cambodia and Chairman of Council of Korean Development NGOs in Cambodia, Mr. Oul Dethsokhom, Chief Executive Officer of DGB Bank, Mr. Kim Pan Seung, CEO of DGB Bank, and Mr. Ros Sothearith, Chief Executive Officer, DGB Cam Capital, and other 170 participants.
DGB visits and volunteer activities have contributed to and involved lots in the Cambodian community financially, educationally, and socially. DGB’s contribution will stay and benefit the Cambodian people, particularly children who are the future of Cambodia. GNC appreciates DGB Financial Group’s willingness to support and hopes to see more DGB corporate social responsibility activities in Cambodia.
