Change is coming! Good Neighbors Cambodia (GNC) and its partners MVL, TADA, and Onion aim to build the improved infrastructures and facilities of existing secondary schools in the Thmar Kol Community Development Program (TK CDP) for community youth to enjoy their preparation for higher education.

On 3rd May 2024, GNC and MVL handed it over to Ou Taki Secondary School, presided over by H.E. Thou Phear, Deputy Provincial Governor of Battambang Province; Mr. Bo Vannarith, Deputy of PDoEYS; Mr. Alex Jung, Head of Business of MVL; Mr. Jang Dongwon, Country Director of GNC;​ Mr. Chea Sambath, District Governor; DoE; CC; Local Authorities; teachers and students and community people totally 390 participants.

After a warm welcome, national anthem, and Khmer traditional dance performance, Mr. Chea Sambath provided a speech and keynotes to the education sector in TK CDP, followed by a remarkable statement from student representative Kong Samothlythra, grade 9. The student said: “We are pleased and grateful to receive the GLC building. It is the value asset that GNC and MVL support to students and community people. We will continuously manage, operate, and maintain the center forever”.

Mr. Jang Dongwon expressed his gratitude to all participants for their valuable time joining the inauguration ceremony of Good Learning Center and presented his sincere to MVL, TADA, and Onion for sharing the mission with GNC and said: “Now the owners of this building are the students here, Otaki Secondary School, and the Royal Government. Good Neighbors will continue to work with the Battambang and TK District to implement more projects. We ask for your cooperation and partnership. Lastly, I would like to thank Mr. Kay Woo, CEO of MVL Foundation, for his support in making the moving project possible. Thank you!”.

Continued with a meaningful speech by Mr. Alex Jung, “I am honored to be here today on behalf of our MVL team to celebrate the opening of the GLC. MVL is an electric vehicle manufacturer, building electric tuk-tuks and electric motorcycles in Cambodia. Our vision and mission are to create a more accessible, more equitable mobility ecosystem. The two words that are very important for MVL are accessible and equitable, as this is the reason we came together with Good Neighbors”. “Dear students, I believe what defines success and happiness is you. Your journey of learning and growth is not about becoming someone else; it is about unlocking the incredible but unique potential that is within you. I look forward to seeing the exciting future you build for yourselves through the GLC and the positive changes you will bring to the community”, he continued.


All participants celebrate the inauguration ceremony with a ribbon cutting, applause, and sharing appreciation certificates, Cambodian decorations of honor, and Souvenirs and visit the Good Learning Center of “MVL School Project #1” together.

* The Good Learning Center (GLC) of Good Neighbors Cambodia is the center that aims to improve Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Language competence, and library. It consists of a library room, computer class, and English class with equipped facilities, study materials, equipment, and a learning system with a well-trained professor.
